Description of Mitzvah Day Projects 2009
Blood Drive: Must be 17 years or older! Please encourage your friends and neighbors to register for our blood drive. Summer is the time the Red Cross has the most needs for blood.
Exterior: Temple Clean Up: Landscaping, Mulch, Weeding, Pruning on Or Chadash property
Interior: Temple Clean Up: Magic Eraser entire Or Chadash building, including classrooms, walls, polish benches
Organize School Bins and Prayer books: Organize school bins, take inventory, prayer books
Or Chadash Library: Organize and help systemize our Temple library
Lunch Bags for SHIP (PB&J): Decorate and make PB&J sandwiches and fill bags with fruit, juice and chips. Bags will be distributed to needy school children. Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP) serves needy families and runs a mobile soup kitchen.
Bake Cookies: Prepare cookies for Boys Home (Hunterdon Youth Shelter.)
Art Table: Ages 4 and Up. Create and design greeting cards for elderly and clients of food pantry and other local organizations. (Children 4 years and older can participate in this activity without being accompanied by a parent.)
Watershed: Trail and Stream Clean Up: Beautify Hunterdon County while taking a leisurely stroll along trails. De-litter trails. Sturdy shoes recommended.
Park: Trail Clean Up: Beautify Hunterdon County while taking a leisurely stroll along a quiet country road
Anderson House: Stain a picket fence at the Whitehouse Station location. Anderson House is a residential program for women recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.
Knitting: Knit a hat for premature babies or squares to make a blanket.
Mitzvah Day Music: Learn some new songs! Brighten patients and residents spirits as the Mitzvah Day chorus travels around town.
